So why do you want to read this website? The main aims of this website should be of interest to anyone trying to use their computer in France. I will cover

• related issues affecting English speaking users in France
• help those who are new or unfamiliar with computers and the Internet
• provide essential information for those with web sites for gites and holiday rentals
• warn of the dangers such as spam and viruses
• provide good advice, hint, tips
• report back on any community events with regard to computing

I will provide good advice, help with problems and guidance where I can.

To let others know what is happening around France with regard to things such as ADSL access, problems with Internet Service Providers, strange equipment etc, I need to hear from you. There are two ways of doing this…

I will respond to individual emails but I will also deal with common questions via an article which then can be commented on.

I am Bob Toovey (English – from Suffolk), resident of the Dordogne in the south west of France since the end of 1999. We have gone through the perils and the joys of French life and can’t imagine living anywhere else. I currently run around 12 websites and have used around 8 ISP’s. My computer is home built and upgraded as and when money affords My wife and I have 4 kids, 3 of which are at school when the can be separated from their computers.
