Hadopi Internet Law now in effect, carefull what you download

Nice to be back blogging again after the festive period but sadly I bring you news of the Internet law that I mentioned a lot last year.

The Hadopi Internet law comes in to effect this year. Just to remind you, this law was passed to protect copyright holders (music and film industry mainly) from illegal downloaders. If you are found to of broken the law more than three times then you may face a fine or have Internet access removed.

I have yet to see written anywhere whose copyright this is actually protecting. I believe that President Nicolas Sarkozy and the entertainment industry want to protect French music and film publishing but how does it affect non-French products? What if you are found downloading an American or UK film from a Non-French website?
