An article on the BBC discusses a new 'anti-WiFi paint' that can block out signals. The paint contains aluminium-iron oxide which “resonates at the same frequency as wi-fi - or other radio waves - meaning the airborne data is absorbed and blocked”.
So if you really wanted to you could use the paint for extra security and stop your neighbours from using your Internet connection.
However, as pointed out on Slashdot (where I found out about this), some floor finishes already contain aluminium-iron oxide, “You or your neighbors may be unwittingly using this already, as most pre-finished wood flooring uses aluminum oxide as a protective coating."
My questions is, do those with tiled floors get a better WiFi signal than those with wooden floors?
