YouTube says no to Internet Explorer 6

If you like to watch videos on YouTube and you are still using Internet Explorer 6 then it's time to upgrade. This is according to a posting on the TechCrunch website whose title says it all, YouTube Will Be Next To Kiss IE6 Support Goodbye.

This means that as YouTube is developed and improved, they will use new web standards and features not found in older versions. So instead, they are recommending that you upgrade to one of the latest browsers such as Google Chrome (Windows Vista/XP SP2 only so far), Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox.

However consider your next browser carefully, as there still major problems with Internet Explorer which are yet to be fixed.

Excellent news. As a web developer, I can't wait for IE6 to be something of the past. Well, and IE7. Hmmmmmm...haha

Thanks for the comment Charles. I believe IE8 is closer to following web standards than previous versions. Hopefully with various popular sites dropping 'old browser' support, we will see better sites for the newer browsers.
